In 2022, we assessed risk behaviours leading to Schistosomiasis in three communities in Uganda. The resulting community risk maps showed which behaviours need to be addressed for effective Schistosomiasis prevention.
Behaviours encompass drinking water collection and consumption, washing laundry, toilet use, personal hygiene, and bathing of children. We are currently quantifying the drivers and barriers steering safe practice of the identified behaviours and will use the results to design impactful behaviour change campaigns.
