Hand washing

Hand washing

Handwashing at key moments, such as after possible contact with stool or before touching food, is one of the most effective measures to prevent diarrhea. However, rates of handwashing practice are very low in many countries.

We analyze the motivators of handwashing specifically for the key moments after possible contact with stool (after visiting the toilet, after wiping a child’s back, after removing human of animal feces) and before touching food (before preparing food, before eating, before feeding a child) and derive interventions tailored to your target population.
