Ranas forms part of a consortium of 11 partners (NGOs, academia and private sector) working to improve access and use of water supply systems in Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso and Palestine. Ranas contributes by developing off-the shelf behaviour change tools that are strictly contextualized and based on evidence collected in all four countries. These tools contain simple questionnaires, an automatized analysis tool, as well as a set of pre-designed and evaluated BC activities that can directly be implemented in these specific contexts. Thus responding to the need of quick applicability of BC activities in conflict-affected areas or informal settlements. Additionally, Ranas has trained Ranas EXPERTS in all four countries, so that the NGO members are able to apply the RANAS toolkits on their own and develop handwashing campaigns in primary health care facilities and schools. Currently, the project partners are conducting the endline surveys and the teams are working hard on making the results accessible and public.
