The RUNRES project (Rural-Urban Nexus: Establishing a Nutrient Loop to Improve City Region Food System Resilience) aims at contributing to circular and more sustainable agriculture and waste management. Through training and backstopping we supported the project team in implementing the full RANAS approach to promote separation of organic waste in Bukavu city. Analysis of evaluation data is currently ongoing and suggests that the behaviour change campaign successfully increased organic waste separation. Results will also provide evidence to what extent the provision of bins complements the communication campaign.
