Four practices towards safer migration were tackled within this pilot study together with Helvetas Bangladesh: requesting receipts from middlemen for all financial transactions, attending a skills training before migration, retaining copies of all important documents with the family, and opening two bank accounts (one for family, one own).
Behaviour change activities were developed using the RANAS approach. Activity 1, an action plan and social support activity, and Activity 2, a role play on a difficult situation when requesting receipts from agents who are family members, were piloted within already ongoing safe migration trainings of Helvetas Bangladesh in three districts in Bangladesh, Chattogram, Narsingdi and Cumilla.
