A: Although the RANAS approach always encompasses 6 steps, it can be adapted to the project at hand and what is actually necessary and possible to do. Each step can be integrated into an ongoing or planned project. Contact us to see how RANAS can be integrated into your project.
A: Developing a behaviour change campaign, which is ready for implementation, from scratch can take as little as 6 weeks. The actual time largely depends on the speed of the implementation of field activities, such as data collections, material development and piloting.
A: This very much depends on the scope of the project and the involvement of the implementing team. For each mandate we develop individual solutions to fit in with the resources and needs of our partners.

A: There are many behaviour change approaches, so it is difficult to provide a generic answer. The core advantages of the RANAS approach are that it is
- Based on theory: the RANAS model and its underlying theory are derived from established psychological theories,
- Population-tailored: all RANAS activities are developed based on the needs of the specific target population,
- Validated, in that all behaviour change techniques (BCTs) of the RANAS approach have been validated in independent studies,
- Cost-effective in implementation and parsimonious: only the most relevant BCTs for the target population are selected, and
- Evaluated, in that RANAS projects include rigorous evaluations.
- RANAS interventions can be developed for many different target groups and behaviours and are not limited to any specific field.
Research
A: The first step would be to become clear about the behaviour you would like to research and the kinds of hypotheses you have or questions you would like to answer. We can help you with that.
A: for research proposals we will also need a research institution, such as universities.
