Unburdening the waste management system by separating sand from household waste

Ranas is collaborating with Centre Ecologique Albert Schweitzer (CEAS) to promote sustainable waste management practices at household level in Ndane, Senegal. At present, household waste contains large amounts of sand that makes the waste difficult to transport and treat. To motivate household members to separate the sand through sieving and not dispose of sand in their household waste, CEAS is using the RANAS approach with backstopping support from us.
