Play4Water: Water Cricket is fun and increases risk perceptions and attitudes towards climate resilient practices in school children

We are delighted to congratulate Anubhav Bhatnagar on the successful completion of the Play4Water project. Play4Water was among the Swiss Water Partnership Youth Water Challenge 2024 winners. Now the project has been completed with a successfully evaluation.

Play4Water is a school-based intervention that uses a cricket-inspired learning game to promote climate-resilient water behaviours among children. It addressed three themes—water quality, water footprint, and water budgeting—and was evaluated in five rural government schools in Lucknow district, India. Across all five schools, Play4Water triggered strong improvements in risk perceptions and attitudes related to water safety and sustainable water use.

The RANAS approach was used for conceptualizing the intervention and guided its evaluation. It has been our pleasure to accompany Anubhav Bhatnagar and his team during this process as part of the Swiss Water Partnership Mentoring Programme.
