RANAS behavioural factors explain consumption of Moringa in Mozambique

In collaboration with Helvetas and Oikos, Ranas has successfully implemented the baseline data collection and conducted the first analysis.

Beliefs to be good caregivers when providing Moringa to children and that Moringa will make children strong (attitude factor block) are important drivers of Moringa consumption. People who consume Moringa also perceive close friends and family members to also consume Moringa (norm factor block). They also have a higher knowledge on how to prepare Moringa (ability factor block) and have more detailed plans on how to integrate collection and preparation of Moringa into their daily routines (self-regulation factor block).

The next step of the project is to design a behaviour change campaign that will specifically target those identified factors in an interactive and vivid campaign to promote Moringa consumption.
